Now nothing is better than good ol' charity that's out there doing right for their community with a loving cause. On Both Fronts is proud to showcase a lovely charity by the name of Magical Mail (sometimes known as Magical Mail Boxes). They send out cards or boxes filled with goodies to children who are either sick or genetically fragile. Items depend on the senders choice and can range from stickers to books to pajamas, to movies, to whatever they like!
Why was it picked? Because they cater solely to the special needs/medically fragile community. Here's why we love 'em: A way to save money with food!Because every family, special needs or busy paced, needs to save money, meal planning can be a way to answer a tight budget, a takeout addiction, or a general need to make healthy food choices. Meal planning has helped my family vastly, plus gotten my son with autism interested in cooking. It has answered our problems, in more than one way.
Whoa, it's halloween already?I just looked outside and realized, like, winter is upon us. What happened?! I was outside getting sunburned and sweating like two days ago, I swear!
In the short time of having this blog, on Instagram and the website, I've been touched by so many stories and supporters that I can't not acknowledge it. This entire On Both Fronts project was started to reach out to others, become acquainted and supported, in my own journey that I was completely unprepared for. But in time, I've discovered that I am more of a person that people need support from, rather than giving support to me (though I am offered a fair share of that too!). I didn't realize that my strength was a blessing in disguise. I didn't realize how many were needing a person like me to make them feel better, to know it was going to be okay, that they can make it through this without losing themselves. I'm so glad that I've been able to be that person for them. They deserve it. You read it right. On Both Fronts is now officially apart of Facebook! We are a page that shares posts related to a wide variety of topics concerning autism, sensory processing disorder, genetic syndromes like Down syndrome, awareness, acceptance and other amazing medical feats that might benefit special needs families and their supports. The news was after much thought and careful consideration as a viable way to reach more connected to the special needs community. Find us on Facebook by searching "On Both Fronts". Our complete name is "On Both Fronts: Special Needs Support" so that people know what we are about right away. |
