Whoa, it's halloween already?I just looked outside and realized, like, winter is upon us. What happened?! I was outside getting sunburned and sweating like two days ago, I swear! Like you, i'm taking it day by dayThings have been absolutely crazy here at our house. I've managed to post on our Facebook page, click here to view, and Instagram, @onbothfronts, but time hasn't allowed me to write informational posts. Even now, I'm taking the lazy way out and just writing about my life. This is my vent time, and I'm going to enjoy it!!
For the newcomers of the blog, Hilo has autism. He's been nonverbal until about age three. He turned four in May and has made major gains in his vocabulary since then. We've been blessed to have a great school system with special ASD classrooms so he gets the attention and support he deserves. Little man is also a smart cookie, just on his own schedule. We deal with sensory issues (he retreats for sensory input, like jumping, when he struggles or becomes overwhelmed), his lack of social interest (currently in the dust. He's become interactive and interested in other children since the start of preschool), and his inability to communicate. We've passed so many goals!!! Each day we push him, not without some meltdowns and bad days, but he gets better. I've got to tell parents: Don't lost hope. There is so much to look forward to.
Now me!!
